What is the difference between IBCC Attestation and IBCC Equivalence Certificate?

The IBCC Equivalence Certificate and Attestation are two different services provided by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) of Pakistan.

  1. IBCC Equivalence Certificate: This is a certificate issued by the IBCC to equate foreign qualifications with corresponding Pakistani certificates (SSC/HSSC). The process requires you to provide some additional documents, such as proof of registration for the certificate or diploma, and English translation of certificates or diplomas from the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) or the concerned embassy.
  2. IBCC Attestation: This is a process where the IBCC verifies the authenticity of educational documents, such as certificates, diplomas, and transcripts, up to the HSSC Level (12th grade) issued by recognized BISEs/BTEs of Pakistan². This attestation is typically required for admission to universities or colleges abroad.

The key difference is that while attestation is about verifying the authenticity of documents, equivalence is about equating foreign qualifications with Pakistani ones. Also, for attestation of an Equivalence Certificate issued by IBCC, you are not required to provide verification of the equivalence certificate as it has been issued by IBCC itself.
